The World Race
DATE: 07/06/2007 20:14:35 / MOOD: Prayerful

Hello all,

First, I want pray for Rob and Sheila as they begin thier new life.  Rob and Sheila are two of the most sincere Christians I know. I pray for God to be lifted up both in their marriage and in their missions work.

The reason for is this entry is to share what is going on in my life. I recently found a missions trip I feel led to go. The trip is a year long and goes through eleven countries. I feel this would be a great opportunity to see Christ at work in other parts of the world.

I need prayer at this point as I follow up to see if this trip is truly a calling or just ething I want to do. There are some obsticles to overcome to determine if I decide to go.

The first is I would like to comissioned and have the blessings of my church to go. This however is not run by International Missions Board which sanctions most baptist missionaries. The next is the cost of the trip Approx 14,000 dollars and this does not include the trip to Georgia for training, spending money, the cost of visas, and needed supplies for the trip. God will provide if it is his will I should go I have no doubt but my small church cannot fund a trip of this magnitude. So please pray with me on this matter.

It is my prayer that God could use this trip to help learn to lead missions groups. That I would learn to really appreciate what really matters in life. It is to be whereever God wants me at all times. I desire to in the middle of where he is working. I want to lose the I and me mentality I have and learn to to be a better giver. I will post more here as I begin the application process. Please read the inspring stories of those now on the race.

Youth as a ministry
DATE: 04/25/2007 22:49:14 / MOOD: Contemplative

The Christian youth in America are incredible. When I look at youth I see strength, character, and zeal for life. It is our responsibilty to reach out and give them support and love. When are church leaders of today going to tap into this fire storm for Christ.

The Christian youth in America today are smart, respectful, and many are leaders in thier schools. They attend Fellowship of Christian Atheletes, hold prayer at the poll, and most of all they are reaching out to all that will hear at school even while being persecuted for thier beliefs. The Christian youth of today are very strong and willing to serve Christ.

We adults are failing in our responsibility to reach these future leaders. When we see a youth dressed in all black we say troubled kid. I after dealing wioth some of these very youth have been proven very wrong. Many times these very kids are extremely talented and are looking for a way to express themselves, many also have troubled home lives. I wnat to say if you these children/youth love you will find these kids have a heart of gold. I do not want to be the one to cause a child to think they are not loved to the point they go on a rampage. I believe Gods plan is that we should be loving the unlovable. It is our job as adults and Christian leaders to find and reach out to these children and the avenue to get there is through teaching the Christian youth of today to reach out to these youth. These troubled or dark Children brighten to some of the best new leaders in a youth ministry. When reached out to and fostered over time. When need to see these youth as leaders not trouble makers. When you label someon you get what you ask for.

Lets all together reachout to a youth today. Lets make a difference in our future. Remember these childrens/youth have parents who many times need to prayed for and reached also. Let's make hell a lot less noisy lets reach the younger generations. Let fire they have be the fire to send satan back where he belongs. To raise a leader be one.

Thanks, Ed
