Bible Lesson Five
12/18/2007 09:42:58 / Reflective
Many parts of the Bible seem to be written with blank spaces. For example, in Matthew 18:20 we read, where two or three are gathered together in My name, there am I in the midst of them. The unaskedquestion is, who are the or three? Two or three Christians? Two or three disciples? Two or threeApostles? Two or three clergymen? The only way to fill in the space is to study the verses before, afteror somewhere else. two or three (what?) are gathered in My name . . . . In your opinion, what word belongs in the blank space?__________________________________________In Matthew 5:17 Christ said, not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I came notto destroy, but to fulfill. Exactly what Christ came to destroy or to fulfill is unclear. Most say, came tofulfill the Law. Others say, so, He came to fulfill the Prophets. Many conclude that the Lawdid away with the Law. Here are verses 17 and 18 with the blank spaces:[17] not that I come to destroy the law, or destroy the prophets: I came not todestroy what? but to fulfill what: . verily I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, not one jot or one tittle shall in no wisepass from the law, till all what? be fulfilled about what ? . Luke 24:44 we can find light upon this question. There Jesus Christ referred to His words recordedin Matthew 5:17-18, He said unto them, these are the words which I spoke unto you (a few years ago inMatthew 5:17) while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law ofMoses, in the Prophets, and in the Psalms, concerning Me. God's law.$ Bible Law On Money $One of the easiest and best ways to study a Bible subject is simply to look up a key word in a good concordancesuch as Strong Many of the lessons in this course were written that way. In this case, to see whatGod has to say, we will look for the words and The first thing we might notice isthat the word is not in the Bible. The word is found nineteen times in the Old Testamentand two times in the New Testament. The word is found only one time. But first, what does the wordmean, what is Here are the definitions of the Hebrew words translated as found in the dictionaryof Strong Concordance:In the Old Testament Hebrew:5377 (nasha) to lead astray, i.e., (mentally) to delude, or (morally) seduce. Many of us do every day in our occupations. However, when it isbrought to our attention, what are we to do? The answer is in Ezekiel 18:19-32.(52) In Nehemiah 5 we found out that usurers that do not repent by off this usury and making restitutionare to be out. What does out mean in terms of a penalty for the crime of usury?(Ezekiel 18:13)_____________________________________________________________________ _______________________Lesson Five - Page 6From the time of Christ until the passage of the Federal Reserve Act of 1913, the vast majority ofProtestant and Catholic churches forbid interest on money. (The Church and Usury by Rev. Patric Cleary. This is a reprint of a book written in 1914.)Today, most churches are in debt to a bank and the clergy teach that Matthew 25:27 and Luke 19:23 Jesus Christ approved of usury. In Lesson 13, Doctrine And God's Law, we will see that, in Matthew25:27 and Luke 19:23, Jesus Christ called usury theft. tuned for Lesson 13.Think for a moment: Let's assume that your family owns a very large corporation. After 200 years ofhard work the company has been built up into a firm producing two-thirds of the world goods and serviceswith a very small percentage of the world work force. However, about 76 years ago you took on a bookkeepingfirm. Then in 1984, you found that, to run your business, you had to borrow all your money from the bookkeeper!Your business was broke, many of your employees were laid off and they were also over their headsin debt to the bookkeeper. The bookkeeper is wealthy. (1980-84 was almost a depression. Many businessesclosed and many lost homes, jobs etc. . . .)Well, the corporation is the United States of America and the bookkeeper is the privately owned FederalReserve Banking System that Congress allowed to be set up in 1913. (Approximately 25% of our Congressmenare officers of banks.)Doesn't it seem odd that the wealthiest, most productive nation on earth is in unpayable debt at thenational, state, local, business and personal levels? We are told that the villain is tellus that inflation is caused by much money chasing too few goods. Who do you know that has too muchmoney? What merchant has too few goods?Other blame inflation on the government. These tell us that our government is spendingtoo much money. That government must reduce spending and cut services (so it can pay interest on thenational debt?) Other experts tell us that unions are too greedy and the workers should work harder andaccept lower wages. Experts tell us that businessmen are not managing their firms well enough, and if theydid, they could lower prices. These same experts tell us that in order to help the economy and reduce inflation, the friendly bankers must RAISE the price they charge for credit by RAISING the interest rate. may place the blame in many places but they never blame the banking system based uponusury that we Christians permit to exist in our Christian land with the blessing of our clergymen. When solutionsare offered, obedience to God's Law is never suggested. And with a so called of church andstate, God solution can not even be considered! Humanists and Liberals would accuse you of yourreligious beliefs on others. Liberty Bell points the way to the Bible solution to our problem of debt bondage to the banker. TheChristian writing on our nation's Liberty Bell is from Leviticus 25:10, . . . . ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, andProclaim Liberty Throughout All The LandTo All The Inhabitants ThereofHow does a nation proclaim liberty? God's Law calls for the cancellation of debt every seven years. Everyfifty years lost or foreclosed real estate is to be returned to the original owner or his heir. The applicable versesare Leviticus 25:8-34 and Deuteronomy 15:1-6.The Jubilee: Everyone has heard the term In a modern dictionary you will find this definition.Lesson Five - Page 7Jubilee (1966): 1. A celebration of an anniversary, especially of a 50th or 25th anniversary. 2. A timeor condition of great joy. Now, from an 1828 dictionary we find this definition,Jubilee (1828): To shout for joy. From a Hebrew word meaning, the blast of a trumpet, coinciding withthe English word (of a bell). In the Bible, every 50th year, being the year following the revolution ofseven weeks of years, at which time all the slaves were liberated, and all lands which had been alienated duringthe whole period, reverted to their former owners. This is a time of great rejoicing. Hence, A season ofgreat public joy and festivity. From the modern 1966 definition you might never discover any Bible connection. One of the many waysthe wicked use to change Christian thinking is simply to change the definition of key words. The Jubilee in Jeremiah 34In 1 Corinthians 10:11 Paul said, all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they arewritten for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. (KJV)The Bible is about government and God's Law. It contains examples for us. With this in mind considerJeremiah 34. In Jeremiah 34:9-10 we are told of a covenant between the king and the people. In verse 11 theLesson Five - Page 8leaders went back on their word. In verses 11-13 Godreminds the government of His law and has Jeremiah tellthem of their sin. In verses 13 and 14 God reminds them ofa commandment that they were given when they came outof Egypt. In verses 17-22 God describes the punishment thathe will bring upon them for breaking the covenant with himand for breaking the covenant between the government andthe people. Now before continuing read Jeremiah 34:8-22.The commandment that they broke is found inLeviticus 25:8-10.(8) And thou shalt number seven Sabbaths of years untothee, seven times seven years; and the space of the sevenSabbaths of years shall be unto thee forty and nine years. (9)Then shalt thou cause the trumpet of the jubilee to sound onthe tenth {day} of the seventh month, in the day of atonementshall ye make the trumpet sound throughout all yourland. (10) And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaimliberty throughout {all} the land unto all the inhabitantsthereof: it shall be a jubilee unto you; and ye shall returnevery man unto his possession, and ye shall return everyman unto his family."The Jubilee celebration was to last a whole year. Therewas also the seven year release. In Deuteronomy 15:1,2 weread, At the end of {every} seven years thou shalt makea release. (2) And this {is} the manner of the release: Everycreditor that lendeth {ought} unto his neighbor shall release{it}; he shall not exact {it} of his neighbor, or of his brother;because it is called the Lord's release. Jubilee and seventh year release are for the purposeof ending poverty. They cancel all debt and return lostreal estate (the family farm) to the original owners. We aretold in verse 6 that God will bless us if we follow His commandmentsand we shall rule over many nations."For the Lord thy God blesseth thee, as he promisedthee: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, butthou shalt not borrow; and thou shalt reign overmany nations, but they shall not reign over thee. 15:6(KJV)Here is a promise that other nations will not reign over us if we obey His laws. One law calls for the cancellationof all debt at the end of seven years. A blessing in the form of a major release each fifty years and aminor release every seven years. The banker's way is to lend money to poor people at interest. Many cannotpay back. Whether they can pay back or not, because of interest, they wind up poorer than before. This eventuallyputs the whole nation in debt. During depressions and recessions bankers take ownership of farms andbusinesses through foreclosure. The national debt is left to the children and grand-children to pay as the debtis never cancelled. (When in rebellion to God's law we are cursed with a depression every fifty years and arecession every seven years.) In Jeremiah 34:11 the leaders of Judah who went back on the promises theymade to the people in verses 8-10. We have this very same thing happening in America today. At election timepoliticians make promises such as, to reduce taxes, or to increase the standard of living. They promise thepeople what they would have gotten if they had obeyed God's law in the first place. As in Jeremiah 34:15, theLesson Five - Page 9Jeremiah 34:8-22 KJV(8) {This is} the word that came untoJeremiah from the Lord, after that the kingZedekiah had made a covenant with all thepeople which {were} at Jerusalem, to proclaimliberty unto them;(9) That every man should let his manservant, and every man his maidservant, {being}an Hebrew or an Hebrewess, go free; that noneshould serve himself of them, {to wit}, of a Jewhis brother.(10) Now when all the princes, and all the people, which had entered into the covenant, heard that every one should let his manservant, and every one his maidservant, go free, that none should serve themselves of them anymore, then they obeyed, and let {them} go.(11) But afterward they turned, and causedthe servants and the handmaids, whom theyhad let go free, to return, and brought theminto subjection for servants and for handmaids.(12) Therefore the word of the Lord came toJeremiah from the Lord, saying,(13) Thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel; Imade a covenant with your fathers in the daythat I brought them forth out of the land ofEgypt, out of the house of bondmen, saying,(14) At the end of seven years let ye go everyman his brother an Hebrew, which hath beensold unto thee; and when he hath served theesix years, thou shalt let him go free from thee:but your fathers hearkened not unto me, neitherinclined their ear.(15) And ye were now turned, and had doneright in my sight, in proclaiming liberty everyman to his neighbor; and ye had made acovenant before me in the house which iscalled by my name:(16) But ye turned and polluted my name, andcaused every man his servant, and every manhis handmaid, whom ye had set at liberty attheir pleasure, to return, and brought theminto subjection, to be unto you for servants andfor handmaids.Continued on the next page.politicians do the very same thing today as the leaders of the Judah kingdom in Jeremiah's time. They breaktheir covenant. ( my lips - no new taxes. rulers have put us in bondage. One bondage is the national debt. And there is hardly one ministerin ten thousand that will tell you what is happening and why. One person wrote to a prominent radio preacherto ask a question. He asked the preacher what he thought of the present economic system. He respondedand said in effect, to be sure not to go over your head in debt and make sure you pay back what you borrowed. He did not say that the charging of interest is wrong. He did not say that the banking system is wrong. Inshort he sided with and supported the present economic system. Some people know that when you pay off a mortgage you are paying for three homes; one for yourselfand two for the banker. The Banker does no work. He has very little invested, and has little risks. The banksand other financial institutions could not do whatthey do if the general public was not kept in ignorance of God's Law and in ignorance of how thebanking/money system works. (The banking system is explained in Lesson Nine.) It would not be possible ifthe preacher did not side with the banker.Jeremiah 34:16 accuses the priests of polluting God'sname. We call ourselves Bible believing Christians and thendo not follow His commandments. In the eyes of the unbelieverit makes God look bad. Therefore, polluting His name.In Isaiah 52:5 we read, . . . name is continuallyblasphemed all day long. The very fact that we Christiansturn from God's law or say that His law is wrong is blasphemy.Again, take a very well known preacher in ananswer to a person who wrote to ask about capital punishment. He said while it was true that the Bible calls for capitolpunishment for murder or rape, no one in their rightmind would think of doing this today. What he is saying isthat God is not in His right mind!God has a way to bring our sins on our own heads. If wewill not proclaim liberty in the seventh and fiftieth yearthen he has the bankers bring upon us a seventh year recessionand a fiftieth year depression. Finally, if we continue torebel, then the Bible principle of Jeremiah 34:17 applies. Ifwe do not proclaim liberty, economic law, then God will giveus liberty of the sword, pestilence and famine.Lesson Five - Page 10While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man isovercome, of the same is he brought in bondage. (2 Peter 2:19)Those who forsake the law praise the wicked, but those who keep the law strive with them. (Proverbs 28:4)And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things whichI say? (Luke 6:46)For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob arenot consumed. (Malachi 3:6)Jeremiah 34:17-22 KJV(17) Therefore thus saith the Lord; Ye havenot hearkened unto me, in proclaiming liberty, every one to his brother, and every man to hisneighbor: behold, I proclaim a liberty for you, saith the Lord, to the sword, to the pestilence, and to the famine; and I will make you to beremoved into all the kingdoms of the earth.(18) And I will give the men that have transgressedmy covenant, which have not performedthe words of the covenant which theyhad made before me, when they cut the calf intwain, and passed between the parts thereof,(19) The princes of Judah, and the princes ofJerusalem, the eunuchs, and the priests, andall the people of the land, which passedbetween the parts of the calf;(20) I will even give them into the hand oftheir enemies, and into the hand of them thatseek their life: and their dead bodies shall befor meat unto the fowls of the heaven, and tothe beasts of the earth.(21) And Zedekiah king of Judah and hisprinces will I give into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of them that seek theirlife, and into the hand of the king of Babylon'sarmy, which are gone up from you.(22) Behold, I will command, saith the Lord, and cause them to return to this city; and theyshall fight against it, and take it, and burn itwith fire: and I will make the cities of Judah adesolation without an inhabitant. In verses 19 - 22 God spoke to those leaders who covenanted to obey His law and didn He said thatBabylon would slay them. In Jeremiah 34:19-21 God said those who will be slain will be the leaders who madea covenant but went back on their word. The same leaders who lead Israel into sin. The side of thecoin is this. Not everyone was to be slain. God protects his own. Others would be taken captive and this weknow to be the case in the past. There is a comparison here for us. A comparison between ancient Babylon and the modern Communists.Ancient Babylon invaded Israel and killed the wicked in positions of leadership. That is history.Recent history proves that, when the Communists take over, certain classes of people and professionsare exterminated. Political leaders, clergy, intellectuals, doctors, lawyers, teachers, judges, bankers and leadingbusinessmen. If the communists come against Christian America will they be an instrument in God hands to kill traitors, false prophets and those who put Christian America in bondage? Think of all the ills in America andwhere they come from. What profession and class of people do they come from? The clergy who teach God's Law is done away and usury is approved by Jesus Christ. The judges wholet criminals out on the street. The lawyer who fights to get the criminal released on a technicality. Thebankers who rob widows and orphans. The big businessmen who hire illegal aliens, de-industrialize Americaand trade with anti-Christ nations. The professors who teach our children that there is no God, humanism, and situation ethics. The doctors who have aborted over eighteen million of our children. the Lord said to him, through the midst of the city, even through the midst of Jerusalem, andput a mark on the foreheads of the men who sigh and groan over all the abominations which are being committedin it's midst. (Ezekiel 9:4)There is a great host of people who sigh and cry because of all the abominations that are done inAmerica. They do not like the sin and corruption they see and may not realize why it is being done. As youread in Ezekiel 9;4 those who did get the mark of God were not slain. Only the corrupting people in Israel areslain. This is also what God said in Jeremiah 34.19-21. the king of Babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes at Riblah; the king of Babylonalso slew all the nobles of Judah. (Jeremiah 39:6)In chapter 38, Jeremiah was thrown in prison. He was released after Babylon captured Jerusalem. Manyof our patriots who are now in prison, or may soon be in prison. Right in the midst of battle God saved thosein Israel who were opposed to the corruption. He used the enemies of Israel to punish the wicked. At the sametime He made the prison a place of safety. a man's ways are pleasing to the Lord, He makes even Hisenemies to be at peace with him. (Prov.16:7)Another Lesson From Bible HistoryIn 2 Chronicles 24:17-27 we have these events:1. The High Priest dies.2. The people turn to false religion.3. God sent a prophet to warn the people.4. The princes conspired against the prophet.5. The princes persuade the king to kill him.6. God sends a foreign army. Now read 2 Chronicles 24:17-27.Lesson Five - Page 11(53) When a nation transgresses the law of God, includinghis economic laws, what is the result mentioned?( ) a.
