Rowing in the Storm...
DATE: 09/28/2009 22:56:46 / MOOD: Prayerful
As some of you may know, the Lutheran church is now undergoing a tumult over marriage and same-sex relationships, a storm which swells even at this writing... read my comments about such at:

Whetheryou agree or not with my position, any prayers to our Lord for guidance would be appreciated. TeeJay

What Would Jesus Drive?
DATE: 07/18/2009 09:08:05 / MOOD: Fun
I came across a new past time... checking out how many cars that I could find that were named in the Bible??? Right away I found a Plymouth in Genesis, and it was a good conversation starter for witness . Check it out in Genesis 27:43-44. Corny? YES! But great fun... can you find the Oldsmobile in Revelation?
Blessings.... TJ

God is Good!
DATE: 02/27/2009 19:51:10 / MOOD: Excited
God is good and his mercy endures forever! I just found out that I'm going to be a grandpop again. Thus I offer threefold prayers to God for my son and his wife, that they and the child will fare well. Also that when the time for birth arrives, the pains of delivery will be surpassed by the joys of parenthood, and finally that the child will be raised to walk in the ways of our Lord.
The first signs of pregnancy are good. She's already had her man running out for ice cream.
Blessings to all... TJ

Kids... ya gotta luv'em!
DATE: 01/28/2009 12:32:25 / MOOD: Sad
I just got off the phone with one of my kids, and I'm more than a little concerned. This child (a parent's term) is early forties in age, and has had a history of substance abuse. I fear that a recent lack of employment or lessened earning ability in business may cast shadows over what this one describes as an apparent recovery period. As well, the child, though an adult, lives several hundred miles away. And the local church has lost its pastor and is closing. The young one called this past week and said that resources were non-existant and it seemed that vagrancy was on the horizon. I hesitate to offer monetary support due to the past abuses. But I worry about this child, and my others, for all seemingly fit the pattern of PKs since none of them particpate regularly in a faith community. I pray for them to seek the One who died that I may know God's love. I have offered them to God, yet still worry.
I told this particularly worrisome one to get to a pastor, to a local church, and seek help... but I wonder first about the ability for my young one to go, for pride though foolish, is yet present. Additionally, I worry about the pastor or church's ability to respond. As a pastor I know that all are precious in God's sight, but I still have difficulty raising them up before their true Father. Thus I ask you that we pray for all parents everywhere. Maybe we need to begin a forum on the topic.

Northern Light!
DATE: 11/22/2008 09:13:48 / MOOD: Full of life
Take a look at the picture in my photo gallery. IT is a GREAT white day outside our door this AM. About six inches of slippery white stuff made our dogs think they died and went to heaven. They played as if they were trying to put a paw print in every inch of the yard. For you folks who reside below the Mason-Dixon line, I think this is God's way of compensating me for not being able to go to Shoney's or find good grits. Blessings! TJ
