Mosaic in The Mayan
DATE: 08/25/2008 23:03:04 / MOOD: Fun
Mosaic meets on Sunday nights in a night club. The building was designed as a very ornate theater. Its walls are decorated with beautiful carved wood. The masks and oher designs are of Mayan origin. A different band plays original songs each week. Frequently the "talk" given by the pastor is preceded by improvisational dance to illusrate the theme of the evening. All forms of art are used to bring people closer to Christ.

Mosaic (continued)

If you read Erwin McManus's book, "The Barbarian Way", you will never see Christianity the same way again. Jesus began a movement, not a denomination!
Human superstructures, commitees, budgets, and buildings all get in the way of the movement Jesus intended to use to conquer the world.
Mosaic meets in multiple rented locations. No building can slow them down. Christianity is spreading like a virus. Any building would have to be elastic in order to contain this congregation!

Creativity to the Core!
DATE: 08/22/2008 21:06:00 / MOOD: Enthusiastic
On Sunday 8/3 and Sunday 8/10, Maria and I had the privilege of visiting "Mosaic" in Los Angeles, CA. This is a church that displays the heartbeat of Christ thru the creativity of their fellowship and worship of the Lord Jesus Christ. Pastor Erwin McManus and his congregation (Mosaic) go all-out to deliver the gospel to every lost person. All obstacles of culture are removed. Every person, of all persuasions, is welcomed to experience the love of Christ in their presence.
The gospel is not compromised and their intellect is exercised.

Peace of God

Peace of God = Walking in the Spirit
"[There is] therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." Romans 8:1
After we are saved, we learn to walk in the Spirit and we have the peace of God in our hearts. In Romans chapter 4 and 5, Paul explains salvation. In chapter 6 he explains baptism. Chapter 7 illustrates the battle between the flesh and the spirit (no peace of God when the flesh is winning). Chapter 8 teaches how to win this battle thru the power of the Spirit and therefor gain the peace of God. We are no longer condemned to lose the battle between the flesh and the spirit!

What is His Will?
DATE: 03/07/2008 09:30:10 / MOOD: Reflective
This is such a common concern among christians, and it should be. We usually think of His will in terms of specific decisions in our lives. But I am speaking of His general will now. The specifics will tend to fall into place after we make His general will a habit in our lives. Keeping the 10 Commandments, bible reading, prayer, church participation, and witnessing, all fall into this large category. His will was spelled out in writing (just like God to do that)! A will is a testament. (Notice the old and the new testaments.) A will is provided in writing!
He, who is dying, has the opportunity to say what is most important to him at the end of his days. What did Jesus tell us to do just before leaving? WITNESS!

Good soil produces fruit to the tune of 30, 60, or 100 times the seeds that were planted. It sounds like the Lord is into goal setting!

WHAT KIND OF SOIL ARE YOU?
DATE: 03/03/2008 20:48:37 / MOOD: Full of life
Jesus said there were four kinds of soil that the seed (the Word of God) lands on. If you are good soil, you bring forth fruit (more saved souls). Think about it!
