Okay, I know we don't like to hear it,
but sometimes we All need to do a little
reality check, so here we go...

The 23rd Channel

The TV is my shepherd,
I shall not want.

It maketh me
to lie down on the sofa.

It leadeth me
away from the faith.

It destroyeth my soul.

It leadeth me
in the path of sex and violence
- for the sponsors sake.

Yea, though I walk in the shadow
of Christian responsibilities,
there will be no interruptions,
- for the TV is with me.

Its cable and remote control,
they comfort me.

It prepareth a commercial for me
in the presence of my worldliness.

It anoints my head with
humanism and consumerism.

My coveting runneth over.

Surely, laziness & ignorance
shall follow me
all the days of my life,

And I shall dwell in the house
- watching TV forever.

Whether we like it or not, the
words of this poem are true. I
used to be a couch potato myself.

But I believe there comes a time
in every person's life when we
need to just step back and evaluate
the things we might be doing that
are displeasing to God, hindering
our relationship with Him.

We need to get our priorities in
line, stay focused on the important
things that really matter, and be
ready to meet Him when He comes!

Psalm 23

The Lord is my Shepherd
That's Relationship!

I shall not want
That's Supply!

He maketh me to lie
down in green pastures

That's Refreshment!

He restoreth my soul
That's Healing!

He leadeth me in the
paths of righteousness

That's Guidance!

For His Name Sake
That's Purpose!

Yea, though I walk though the
valley of the shadow of death

That's Challenge!

I will fear no evil
That's Assurance!

For thou art with me
That's Faithfulness!

Thy rod and thy staff,
they comfort me

That's Shelter!

Thou preparest a table before me
in the presence of mine enemies

That's Hope!

Thou anointest my head with oil
That's Consecration!

My cup runneth over
That's Abundance!

Surely goodness and mercy shall
follow me all the days of my life

That's Blessing!

And I will dwell in the
house of the Lord

That's Security!

Forever.
That's Eternity!

My Most Favorite Book

My most favorite book was the first
book ever printed in 1454 A.D.

It is the largest seller of all books
in history and is still #1 on
the charts today!

This book is an action-packed
adventure from start to finish.

It is filled with love and romance,
all intertwined with thrills,
chills and suspense.
But best of all...,
it's a True Love Story!

This book is packed so full of love,
guidance, comfort, wisdom and absolute
knowledge, that make it without a doubt...,

The most Triumphant, Powerfully Inspired,
Uncompromising, Masterpiece of Literature
ever known to mankind!

And in case you haven't guessed
by now, my favorite book is
The Holy Bible.

It's the Word of God..., the only book
that has withstood the test of time.

It's our personal instruction

I'm on the Kings Highway!

Directions To My Father's House

First, you must make a right turn
onto Believeth Boulevard.

Keep straight and go through the green light,
which is Jesus Christ.

There, you must turn onto the Bridge of Faith,
which is over troubled waters.

When you get off the bridge, make a right
turn and keep straight. You will be on the
King's Highway, Heaven-Bound!

Keep going for three miles: one for the Father,
one for the Son, and one for the Holy Ghost.

You must then exit off onto Grace Boulevard,
and from there, turn right onto Gospel Lane.

Keep Straight and make another right onto
Prayer Road. As you go on your way, do not
yield to the traffic on Temptation Avenue.

Avoid Sin Street because it is a dead end,
and do not stop on Envy Drive or Hate Avenue.

You must also pass up Hypocrisy Street,
Gossiping Lane, and Backbiting Boulevard.

However...,
You will go down Long-Suffering Lane,
Persecution Boulevard, and
Trials & Tribulations Avenue.

But, that's Okay because...
Victory Street is straight up ahead!
AMEN? AMEN!

Life is God's gift to you.
The way you live it, is your gift to God!

Want What I Have?

Well, I pray that you do and that's
why I'm here, to share the good news
of God's wonderful Love for you,
His Mercy and His Grace.

Romans 10:9 says if we will confess
with our mouth the Lord Jesus, and
believe in our heart that God raised
Him from the dead, we will be saved.

Romans 8:27 tells us that it is HE who
searches our hearts. So we must first
make a decision in our heart to believe.

God tells us in His Word that without
Faith, it is impossible to please Him:
for he that cometh to God must believe
that He Is, and that He Is a rewarder
of them that diligently seek Him.
You can find this in Hebrews 11:6

So, how do we come to know God?

First, we have to recognize that
we are all sinners. Romans 3:10 & 23
tell us that there is none righteous,
no not one. For all have sinned and
come short of the glory of God.

We must believe that Jesus Christ
died on the cross to save us from
our sins. 1 Peter 3:18, Galatians 2:20

Acts 3:19 says to repent and be
converted so that your sins will
be blotted out when the time of
refreshing comes from the Lord.

Accept Jesus as your Saviour; Come
unto me all ye that labour and are
heavy laden and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:28, John 6:37

Okay, so if you really want what I
have, just talk to God. Pray this
prayer with me, and really mean
it with all your heart.

Dear Heavenly Father, In the name
of Your Only Begotten Son, the
Lord Jesus Christ, I pray.

I know I have sinned
against You. I repent.
Please forgive me
and have mercy on me.

Lord, I put my faith in You.
I believe You will do exactly
what You said You would do for me.

And from this moment on,
I will follow You the
best I know how.

Lord Jesus, Thank You
for Your Grace. Amen.

If you just sincerely prayed this
prayer, you were born again!

You are now a child of God saved
by Grace through faith in our
Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ!

Congratulations!!! You have just
made the most important decision
you will ever make, and imgaine this...
the Bible says the Angels in Heaven
are Rejoicing at this very moment!
Luke 15:10

Wow! Isn't that awesome?
You bet it is!

It's important to know that
turning from sin happens after
salvation, not before it, and
not even the best of us are
really very good at it.

The Greek word translated "repent"
means a change in thinking, not
a change in our behavior.

When John the Baptist and Peter
spoke of repentance, they were
telling their Jewish audiences to
change their minds about relying
upon the law and to recognize
their great need for a Saviour.

We come to Jesus by faith alone
asking Him to forgive us for our sins.

Once we're saved, He sends us the
Holy Spirit to convict us of our sin
and begin the regeneration process.

But before that process has even begun
the Holy Spirit is sealed within us as a
deposit, guaranteeing our inheritance.
Ephesians 1:13-14

So everyone who sincerely prays the
sinner's prayer and trusts in the
Lord for forgiveness is saved.

Remember, we're saved
because of what we believe,
not because of how we behave.

So, what do you do now?

Be Happy! Be Thankful!
Get yourself a Bible and start
reading it so you can learn
all about following God.

Find a good Bible teaching
Church so you can grow in
your walk with the Lord.

And don't forget to Pray!
Prayer is simply talking to God,
like I'm talking to you right now.

Don't ever worry about how to pray.
Just talk to God. Talk with Him
about everything as if He is right
there with you... because He is!

And remember, this is important!
Because of what Jesus Christ did
for us on the cross, we have direct
access to Him any time, all the time!

So, seek God and cherish your new
personal relationship with Him!

And if I never get the opportunity
to meet you personally while on this
earth, I'll meet you in Heaven!

Yippee!!! See ya there!

For God so loved the world, that
He gave His only begotten Son; that
whosoever believeth on Him, should
not perish but have everlasting life.
John 3:16

For by grace are ye saved through faith;
and that not of yourselves: it is the gift
of God: Not of works, lest any man
should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9

Always be prepared to give an answer
to everyone who asks you to give a
reason for the hope that you have.
1st Peter 3:15

He had no servants,
yet they called Him Master.

He had no degree,
yet they called Him Teacher.

He had no medicines,
yet they called Him Healer.

He had no army,
yet kings feared Him.

He fought no military battles,
yet He conquered the world.

He committed no crime,
yet they crucified Him.

He was buried in a tomb,
yet He Lives Today!

In Chemistry
He turned water into wine.

In Biology
He was born without
the normal conception.

In Physics
He disproved the law of gravity
by ascending into heaven.

In Economics
He disproved the law of
diminishing return, by feeding
5000 people with only two fish
and five loaves of bread.

In Medicine
He cured the sick and the blind
without a single dose of medicine.

In History
He is the Beginning and the End.

In Government
He is called Wonderful
Counselor, Prince of Peace.

In Religion
No one comes to the
Father except through Him.

So, Who Is He?

He Is Jesus!
The Son of God!
The Greatest Man in History!
And He Is Worthy To Be Praised!

So What Does It Mean To Be Born Again?

Our New Birth is Spiritual, Holy,
and Heavenly. It is being made alive
again in a spiritual sense. When you
accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and
Saviour, you will experience a rebirth,
hence the phrase, Born Again.

After we are born again, we begin to see,
hear, and seek after divine things. Christ
is now formed in our hearts and we begin
to live a life of faith and holiness.

We have been made new creatures, and
are now partakers of the Divine Nature.

God is the source of this, not man. It
is not by the works of man, but by Gods
own good will and pleasure. His Great
Love, His Free Gift, His Rich Grace and
His Abundant Mercy are the cause of it.

These attributes of God are displayed in
the regeneration and conversion of sinners.

Regeneration is a result of salvation,
along with sealing, adoption and
reconciliation. Ephesians 1:14,
Galatians 4:5, 2 Corinthians 5:18-20

So being saved, or born again, begins the
regeneration process. Regeneration is God
making us spiritually alive, making us a
new creation because of our faith in Christ.
John 1:13, John 3:6-7, 1 John 3:9 & 4:7,
1 John 5:1,4,18, Ephesians 2:1, 1 Peter 1:23

This is necessary because before we
were saved, we were not God's children.
We were children of wrath. Before our
salvation, we were degenerate.
Ephesians 2:3, John 1:12-13,
Romans 5:18-20

But after salvation, we are regenerated.
We are born again and this regeneration
brings us peace with God, new life, and
eternal sonship. Romans 5:1, Titus 3:5,
2 Corinthians 5:17, John 1:12-13,
Galatians 3:26.

This regeneration is eternal and begins
the process of sanctification where we
become the people God intended
for us to be. Romans 8:28-30.

The Bible is clear that the only means of
regeneration is by faith in the finished
work of Jesus Christ on the cross.

Jeremiah 7:9 says that no amount of good
works or keeping of the law can regenerate
the heart which from birth is deceitful
and wicked above all things.

If you are a Christian, you have
experienced this new birth. You have
been born again! You have received
the only cure for the total depravity
of the human heart.

Other religions believe there are works
and deeds that one must do in order to
gain favor with God. But in Romans 3:20,
He tells us that by works of the law no
human being will be justified in His
sight. Total regeneration of the heart
is necessary for our salvation.

Paul explains this concept perfectly in
Galatians 2:20 when he says, I have
been crucified with Christ. It is no
longer I who live, but Christ who lives
in me. And the life I now live in the
flesh I live by faith in the Son of God,
who loved me and gave himself for me.

This is true regeneration.

And this is what it means to be Born Again!

I am a Part of the Fellowship
of the Unashamed.

I have Stepped over the Line.
The Decision has been Made.
I am a Disciple of His.

I will not Look Back, Let Up,
Slow Down, Back Away or Be Still.

My Past is Redeemed.
My Present Makes Sense.
My Future is Secure.

I no longer need Preeminence..,
Promotions or Popularity.

I do not have to be Recognized,
Praised, Regarded or Rewarded.

I now live by Faith,
Lean on His Presence,
Walk by Patience,
Lift by Prayer,
Labor by Power.

My Mission is Clear.
My Goal is Heaven.
My Road is Narrow.
My Way is Rough.
My Companions are Few,
My Guide is Reliable.

I cannot be Bought, Compromised,
Detoured, Lured Away, Turned Back,
Deluded or Delayed.

With Gods help, I will Not
Flinch in the face of Sacrifice,
Hesitate in the presence of the adversary,
Negotiate at the table of the enemy,
Ponder at the pool of popularity,
Meander in the maze of mediocrity.

I will not Give Up, Shut Up, or
Let Up until I have Stored Up,
Prayed Up, and Spoken Up
For the Cause of Christ.

I am a Disciple of Jesus.
I must keep going till He comes,
Give till I drop,
Work till He stops me,
Tell all that I know.

Then when He comes, He will have
No Problem Recognizing Me!
