MyMinistrySpace.com is faith based, Christian social networking site that aims to foster a sense of unity amongst believers in a way that connects vision with resources.
A social networking site is a site where users can create personal profiles, post blogs, engage in forum discussions, creat groups, chat, post pics, videos, music, slideshows, widgets and all sorts of other items that describe or depict their interests.
There are many such sites out there on the Internet. The most popular are sites like MySpace, Xanga, Facebook and others. But many of these sites have come under heavy scrutiny in recent years.
For instance, MySpace has more than 200 million users and gains 250,000 new ones each day. It's one of the largest sites on the net in terms of pages viewed, according to
Financial Times. But in a typical month, according to critics, MySpace may have to remove more than 200,000 “objectionable” profiles, pics or videos from its site in an effort to protect young users (who are the ones who tend to frequent such on-line networking sites the most) from viewing or engaging in potentially harmful content.
MyMinistrySpace.com provides a healthy, Christian alternative for people looking for the same functionality of a MySpace-style site but who wish to avoid all of the lustful ads, nudity, language, slander, blasphemy, persecution and temptations that come with most secular sites currently on the net.
We at MyMinistrySpace.com do believe that as believers in Christ, we are to be the light in the darkness. We are to be the "salt of the earth." So we are by no means trying to pull Believers away from MySpace and other such sites. We want you to shine God's light in the darkness and use those sites as your ministry field. But we realize it can be difficult to stay strong and healthy in the Lord in those types of environments.
So, MyMinistrySpace.com was created as a safe place to regroup, refresh, pray and fellowship as you renew your mind with the things of God. It is meant to be a place where you can unite in faith with other Believers and prepare yourself for the spiritual battles that lie elsewhere.
We strive to keep this site as clean and user friendly as possible. All ads, pictures, music and videos are screened by a Bible believing Christian. And we invite all users to help us monitor this site so that it remains a place that honors God and lifts up His bride the Church.
We also want this site to be "seeker friendly." Therefore, it is open to anyone who wishes to join. All true seekers are indeed welcome here, however if your desire is to cause division and/or post things that are displeasing to God, your profile and/or content will be removed.

Why was MyMinistrySpace.com created?
Originally, MyMinistrySpace.com was created by a missionary for missionaries. Founder and creator,
Rob Skiba II designed this site with the idea of creating a "missionary toolbox" - a FREE resource that missionaries and ministries could use to network and intereact online.
As a missionary myself, I've traveled to more than 13 countries around the world. And one of the things I have noticed is that there are tremendous needs everywhere - and yet so few are filling those needs. And those who are, don't have the time (or ability) to actively seek the support they desperately need. And yet, in America there are vast amounts of resources that are largely un-tapped.
In my opinion, one of the best ways to create awareness and raise support is through the use of multimedia - especially if it is implemented well on the Internet. That's how the secular world does it. So, why shouldn't missionaries and ministries be given the same tools? But I've found that most missionaries do not have the skills, knowledge, time and/or financial resources to create their own on-line presence in a way that will reach a lot of people.
Well, that's an area that I am most passionate about... serving Christ and His body through the use of multimedia tools. So, I wanted to provide a quick and easy way for missionaries to spread the word about what they are doing around the world. A social networking site does that. It gives them an opportunity to write about their work,to post pictures, slideshows, videos... everything they need to spread the word so others can help them.
Rob wanted to create a social networking environment for believers to interact and share the passion and vision God has given to them. In so doing, the hope was that believers would come together in unity and help one another to fulfill the task God has laid on their heart.
In short, MyMinistrySpace.com was created to be more than just a social networking environment - it was created to be a place where vision can meet resources for the expansion of the Kingdom and the Glory of God.
What's next for MyMinsitrySpace.com?
We are constantly searching for new ways to improve this site. As we find resources, we'll be adding them. As we discover new plug-ins and mods that we think will be beneficial we'll be incorporating them. In the near future, we intend to implement a donation module that users can include in their profiles as well as a new feature called "MyMinistrySite" in which they can easily build a mini-website within this site. So, stay tuned! Lord willing, there's lots more to come in the near future.
