NeverQuit Essay

There are ten steps to entering and leaving all areas and situations in your life. Step one is Realize Crisis is Normal. this part of life is always difficult for a new believer. Its often hard for us to fathom why we go through the things in life that we do. Even more so it may leave you questioning God, wondering why he allowed something bad to happen to you. In reality its not that at all. Each time we are in the midst of a crisis we are actually on our way to a higher level of learning and faith in our Lord. As doctor Cole says, its not where you have been delivered from, but where you have been delivered to! Have faith in Christ and the blood he shed for you. God will take care the where and who of your life. But only you have the ability to let him.

Step two is Follow the Lords pattern: Forgive. Has anyone ever hurt you physically, emotionally, or mentally? If so is the pain still there? If it is then that means you have not released the power of forgiveness. You may say you have or think you have but deep within the pit of who you are the pain is still there due to unforgiveness. You have not yet truly let the situation that caused the pain go. Or it may be that you have done something to someone and have not asked them to forgive you. Either way you look at it, it is a sign of unforgiveness and needs to be released from your heart. No matter how much that person hurt you, you must find your strength through your weakness. You will never be able to truly move on with your life if you haven't truly finished what went on in your life. If you take that pain or guilt into the newness of who you are becoming. Then the newness will be tarnished with what you did or what was done to you in your past. Forgive with your heart not with your mind. Jesus died on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins! His battered, beaten, kicked on, spit on, lifeless body hung on that cross for you! So that we can have life. The blood of his body was poured out so the blood of your body can flow within. So many of us have such a hard time forgiving someone for certain things they did or said to us and we hold grudges that are so petty. Even after the men that beat and killed our Lord and Savior, still one of the last things he said was father forgive them for they know not what they do Father forgive them. that's what Jesus said to allow us the opportunity to dwell in the kingdom of heaven with our father. The creator of the universe. And yet we have a hard time forgiving someone for owing us twenty or thirty dollars. Or because they called us a name. Or maybe you blame someone for the way your life turned out. really look at what Jesus did and then look at what you do and have done. Ask your self what have I done to think I'm worthy of sitting next to Christ the son??? Forgive, its one of the greatest things you can ever do.

Step three is Admit that God is Your Source. Even when we think God isn't working in our lives. We must not allow those thoughts into our hearts. Dr. Cole said something that always stuck with me. What he said is our Financial battle is won on our knees not at the mailbox. In other words rely on God to bring the blessings you need not the mail you were expecting to receive. By doing so we as Dr. Cole said make our mailbox our source not God. I know all to well about the disobedience we have in our lives. I remember when I would tell God or people that I was a good man now and would just expect God to magically fill my pockets because I'm now serving him. In reality it doesn't work like that at all. The little time I have been obedient doesn't make up for all those years I was disobedient. I learned that through God and God alone I will prosper and it is him that is my true source of life. The authority of man on earth does not compare to the higher authority of God in heaven. Yes we must obey the laws of the land, but it is God that allows us to have the things we have. It is God that gives us the victories in life. You need to be happy with what he has given you not with what you expect him to give you. Even when your left with two dollars in your pocket or maybe no dollars you must rejoice in what he can and will do for you. Give to him cheerfully not in a pouting way. Know that ten percent is automatically his anyway. Give to God with a smile and so shall he give to you with the same heart. God is not a debtor to any man. Not long ago I was in a situation that at first brought stress upon me. But I was quickly convicted and reminded by God as he said do you trust me? Do you believe that I am your provider? Yes father. Yes I do was my response. Let me tell you how good he truly is. Although I had not one dollar to my name and my vehicle had no gas. Instead of worrying about how I was going to get home or how I was going to eat lunch. I just sat and prayed and told the Lord please move in my life. I belong to you Lord and trust that you will provide for me. Well not only did someone buy my lunch. My car made it all the way home almost twenty miles completely empty. When I say empty I mean past the little red E on the gauge. The closer I got to my house the more I wanted to cry out of joy. Just knowing that the mighty hand of God was upon me. It was as if he was a kid playing with a matchbox car and he grabbed my car and guided me all the way home. It was my faith in him to truly be my source. You too should know that with him and through him as your source, life can and will be amazing.

Step four is Don't Panic. I can recall a time in my life that really brought me down and caused panic in me. Spiritually, physically, and financially. When I didn't have a job I was at home all day long and felt like a bum. I allowed my self to choke up and drop the ball. The longer I stayed home the more I became less productive. I allowed myself to make unwise decisions that always led to greater panic within in my marriage. At that time in my life I had no relationship with Christ. Therefore I sank even lower than I would have if I would have been walking by faith In Jesus. As I read through doctor Cole's book it was so real to me because I experienced all the situations that followed with the issue of panic. I was always unable to sleep, kept searching for answers, and never truly knew what to do next. Now as a man of God I can honestly say if ever in an unemployed situation again I will definitely not allow it to effect me as it did in my past. It is God who I shall trust and so should you. As men we are naturally expected to lead and be the backbone of our home. We must trust in the mighty power of our most high God! We can't sit at home playing video games or moping around the house all day long doing nothing. You must continue to lead your home. Spend your days working on your home, your yard, or something productive that will not give you time to dwell on the fact that you are unemployed. The more time you spend in the word and covered by the blood of Christ. You will find your self leaving the situation just as fast as you entered.

Step five is Admit Gods' Sovereignty. sooner or later there will be a time in your life that you will be falsely accused of something you didn't do. Or put in a situation that you know was wrong and done out of jealousy or hate. Rather than over react or allow the heart of revenge to set in and take over you. You must allow God to handle what is his to handle anyway! Revenge isn't ours. If you have given your life to God then it must be given to him completely. That means your life belongs to God and so do the negative and or positive situations that can and will come along. When Joseph was sold to slavery or falsely accused by Potiphars' wife he not once gave up on God or lashed out at him saying God failed him. He as we should kept his faith and didn't allow what was being done to him to crush his spirit. It didn't happen over night the way we always want it to. But because of his faith and love for God he knew that God himself was in complete control of his life. By allowing that to be in his heart he allowed God to turn what the enemy meant for bad into something Good. There is always a high to every low in your life. don't stop serving God because the enemy has tried to make you feel that God is no longer with you. Or not doing enough for you. When the time comes that you feel God has failed you or doesn't care about you. Think about the bloody battered body of Jesus that hung on a cross FOR YOU over two thousand years ago. There is no blessing or love greater than that!!

Step six is Don't Limit God. So many of us, believers in the word or not always tend to put limits on God. Its as if we truly don't trust him to move or work for our greater good. One thing that doctor Cole said that is so true is "God don't put limits on faith, faith puts limits on God!" I have personally known and know men and women that believe in God and the power he holds to change lives. But for some reason their faith doesn't allow them to believe that for their own lives. God works in our lives to the degree we believe. As much as you give God to work with is what you will receive in return. If you have little faith you will see little work. God is the creator of the Earth and the heaven. There is nothing he can't do. If you depend on man or your self to get to the place in life you belong. You will never be there. When you spend all your time leaning on your own understanding and not Gods' you will miss your blessings. That's why its so important to seek the blesser and not the blessing.

Step seven is Humble Yourself to Obey God. We must not allow our pride to step in and get in the way of what is right and wrong before our almighty God. Better to humble your self rather than him humble you. When we are wronged by another person. No matter if it's a family member, a friend, a co worker, or just some random person on the street. Its not for you or I to take action. Be humble and allow God to work out the kinks of what happen. When we are wrong we need not try to cover a lie with a lie or be to proud to admit we were wrong in what we did or said. It shows more about who you are to admit your faults than it does to deny and cover your faults. A man that can humble himself and be humiliated before man out of obedience for God. Is a man that is on the right path to being a true servant in the kingdom of God.

Step eight is Trust God to Vindicate You. So many times we tend to take matters into our own hands. Rather than let God have the vengeance. The bible clearly speaks of this in (Romans 12:19). Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written : " It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord. But if you read further to verse 20 and 21 it also says that if your enemy is hungry feed him, and if thirsty give him a drink. By doing this you will heap burning coals on his head. Do not be overcome by evil, but rather overcome evil with good. God will take care all those who serve him faithfully. When his righteous people are condemned for something they didn't do. In time and through faith, God will allow the righteous to prevail and the wicked to crumble. They will not succeed in harming you if your faith and trust is in the almighty king. Stand firm on the solid foundation that you have in Jesus. And so shall he stand firm to protect those whom serve him faithfully and obediently.

Step nine is Communicate. No matter what is going on in your life do not stop communicating. Its one of the most important things to remember. God will always be with you, but you too have to be with God. In the wild when an animal strays away from the herd. It is an easier target to be stalked and killed by another animal that is stronger. It becomes weak and vulnerable. Its no different for us as humans. The enemy knows our weaknesses and will prey upon them. For some reason we always want to seclude our selves and hide from God or our brothers and sisters in Christ. In the most crucial time we run from instead of to God and our leaders. Allowing the matter to worsen and the devil to swallow us piece by piece. One thing I always use and keep in my heart is what Dr Cole said on this subject. And that is there is a difference between good advise and Godly council. When we seek what is only good advise it will most likely be a worldly answer to what needs to be a Godly solution to our problems and for our hearts. Therefore confusing you or leading you even further away from what need be done. First and foremost run quickly and proudly to God in any and every situation that may come before you. It is he that shall keep your path lit in righteousness. Seek his direction & guidance in all you do. When in need of council pour out to the leadership in your church or your pastor. And never trust in yourself to handle what is not yours to handle anyway. Communication, communication!! Never be without it. The more you communicate with God, the less room the enemy has to communicate with you.

Step ten is Act on Principle. In all you do, do it by faith. Seek God for the answers to all you do in your life. His word will get you to the place you need to be. If you take the time to call out to God and trust his word every thing you enter into and leave from will be as it should, Not as you want. Pray and read your bible daily. By your faith you will attract the positive and with fear you will attract the negative. Every area in your life must begin with God's word. We as Christians often make the mistake of seeking our own thoughts or those of others and leave God out of the picture. Even when we know God has given us a word or words we still seem to do as we please. Sadly its when all seems to be going wrong that we then seek him. Crying out to him for the answers and direction for our lives. You must Change your order of operation and you will then see the mighty awesome power that God contains. If God for you then who can be against you. The enemy can only try to complicate your life. But if your covered by the king of kings, not even the devil himself can come close to harming you. If you have read this and truly let it into your heart. Your life will no longer be on the rocks, but rather on the ROCK! The solid rock of Jesus Christ. These are the ten most important steps to claiming the victories in our lives. It doesn't matter who we were in our lives its who we are now that matters. With Jesus by our side, the rest of our life will be the best of our life. There are many things you can do to show your accomplishments in your walk with Christ. But those things will never compare to what truly defines your walk with Christ (YOUR HEART)
