Update on Transgender/Homosexual issues
On Tuesday, July 14th an extreme Transgender Hate Crimes Bill will be presented in the Massachusetts' State House for a public hearing. This bill will add Transgenders as a protected group under the law while providing them with rights and liberties that not only infringe upon the general public but also endanger women and children.  Similar yet less extreme bills have passed in 13 other states already, for the most part20without public awareness. Maine is one of the first to feel the effects of these new laws; A young boy sued his public elementary school for not allowing him to continue using the girls restroom, after biological girls began to complain. Last week it was reported that he won the case due to the new laws in place. The school will now have to allow biological males into female restrooms. Press Bangor Daily News for more information. Also a Denny's in Maine was sued for not allowing an adult male into their female restroom.
Please review the facts of HB 1728  Act Relative to Gender Based Discrimination and Hate Crimes This Bill will
  • Add a new protected group into Massachusetts law titled Gender Identity and Expression.
  • Define Gender Identity or Expression as a gender-related identity, appearance, expression, or behavior of an individual, regardless of the individual assigned sex at birth.
  • Massachusetts General Law will be rewritten to insert Transgender Identity and Expression every place it speaks of protected groups such as race, sex and religion.
  • Create a Transgender Commission under the Massachusetts government with no less then 25 state employed members to focus solely upon advancing Transgender rights and issues within the state; including within schools and la w.
How will this bill effect me?
  • It will open all single sex spaces such as locker rooms, bathrooms, and shower houses in all public locations, including schools, churches, gyms and hospitals to both genders. This law will legislate that any opposition to the entrance of these biological male or females into the opposite sexes spaces would be considered discrimination and a hate crime.  Bathroom Info Link
  • It will define Transgender Identity and Expression so vaguely that there would be no hope of any prosecution for someone who is misusing the law, in regards to pedophiles, etc. How can you legally assess or judge a persons inner gender conviction when there is no basis on biological facts or physical manifestation?
  • This bill will criminalize all written information negatively speaking about or portraying transgender. As written "Whoever aids or incites such distinction, discrimination or restriction, shall be punished by a fine of not more than twenty-five hundred dollars or by imprisonment for not more than one year, or both size="3">RESPONSE   We are bringing this to your attention not simply to inform you but for you to act.
The times command a response! We challenge you to respond in prayer and in action by allowing your life to embody your prayers.
1) PRAY - For residents and non residents we urge  you to pray that HB 1728 would not pass. If this Bill is passed it will effect each one of us and our children.
As we have seen with Massachusetts legalizing  same sex marriage in 2004 it is now going state by state. We must resist and oppose this bill now.
2) ACT - For residents of Massachusetts your presence and voice is desperately needed! See details below.
Tuesday July 14th the Massachusetts Judiciary Committee will be holding a Public Forum at the Boston State House to hear the opinions of Massachusetts residents regarding this bill. They are looking to public opinion to decide whether or not this bill will be good for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. We are urging you to lay hold of this opportunity, take the day off  and come speak truth into this matter.  Boston State House 24 Beacon St, Boston, MA Gardiner Auditorium 1pm - 5pm
(Be prepared to stay much later. Last year testimonies were heard until 11pm)
< br> Also prior to the Public Forum MFI (Massachusetts Family Institute) will be holding a meeting for residents to hear from legislatures who oppose the bill and talking points for the day. If you cannot make it that day we encourage you to contact your local Representatives to let them know your thoughts on HB 1728.
