Title: WONDERFUL THINGS
Category: Full of life
Blog Entry: MT 7:9 "Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! 12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets .MATTHEW 7:9-12 JAS 1:16 Don't be deceived, my dear brothers. 17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. 18 He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created. JAMES 1:16-18
Every day God gives each one of us something special, something just for us to notice and be grateful for. It remains for us to notice them and thank God for His wonderful gifts.
I have a friend who was grumping around and complaining that life was dull and not very much fun. I asked him if he saw some of the wonderful things God gave him today. He said no, there was nothing, so I asked if he noticed the sunrise. The way his clothes looked on him, that he Had clothes he likes. Did he eat breakfast? Was the air he was breathing sweet and healthy for his lungs? Then he got in the spirit of it and exclaimed that yes, he did have many blessings.
I asked at the nursing home where I visit if the nice ladies I was chatting with had noticed any of God’s wonderful things and yes, one said she loved God’s gifts like sunrises and sunsets, the stars and all of the little sweet things that happen every day but surprise; she was grateful just to be alive.
In fact these ladies taught me a few things about being grateful for the wonderful things. They mentioned such things like being served their favorite breakfast, the sounds of the birds in the cages around their common room, the beautiful sunny day, the songs the visiting children sang, and on and on, then it was a lovely journey down Memory Lane…
These ladies who had nearly nothing to look forward to were enjoying the very second they were living in. Many of them were in a lot of pain, yet they were thanking God for the many blessings they saw in each and every facet of their lives. How wonderful, Now That is a WONDERFUL THING. To see someone being thankful for all the wonderful things.
Lord, You give me a new morning each day, Your faithfulness is forever and You bring me all my needs when I need them, You have made a beautiful world just jam packed with wonderful things I am so grateful for.
