Title: Seeing God in General Housework
Category: Reflective
Blog Entry: In John 13:36 Peter asks Jesus where He's going. Jesus answers in John 14:1-3 saying, “Let not your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” What? Jesus is preparing a dwelling place? A house for His chosen ones? Yes, He is! What exactly is He doing? How is He preparing the place? We don't have details, but I can imagine Jesus' perfect work in a perfect setting will be beautiful and functional for His children to live, work, and explore for God's glory for an eternity. How wonderful and gracious our Lord is! As a homemaker, I have a great opportunity to be like Jesus. I can prepare a place for Him as He prepares a place for me. The home I live in is His home and I can serve Him by preparing it well.
