| MINISTRY & VISION |
My ministry is teaching God is good. That He doesn't ever answer His children in the negative...He says "YES" or "I have a better plan". We may not see or understand "the plan" but that is where Faith comes into play. All things do work for the good for those who love the Lord. Love grows through times of testing and trials because that is when we grow closer to Him. My ministry is to live a reflection of Him and to pass it on to those around me. Since God was gracious to make me a Mother/Grandmother, I take that " ministry" with all seriousness. I want my family to know and love Him with all their hearts and minds. For we serve a great and mighty and loving God. |
| MINISTRY NEEDS |
Our needs are now based primarily on health issues. Pray that we have health to continue to minister and serve our God. He is soooooo good! |

| ABOUT ME |
I love God. I love my family and am proud of all of them. I love my church ..my extended family. I love reading and studying God's Word. He is my sustainer.
15 years ago I was dx with a myleoproliferatve disease/ Polycethemia Vera. In easier terms: myleo is bone and proliferative is over production. I made too many red blood cells a form of blood cancer. I was given 10 - 15 years. Ha!It has now progressed to myleofibrosis which means instead of bone marrow..the bones are filling with fiber ...not a good thing. However, God has blessed in so many ways. I am a member of an MPD internet support group and there are 5 of us who have become as close as real sisters. All are of different faiths, but all are Christians.God has given us each other along with our disease. We have all grown because of it. I am doing very well and will live til God decides it is time to come HOME. I thank Him for my illness because it has drawn me closer to Him and has enabled me to help others through example.
I have a wonderful husband ( this year marks our 40 th anniv). He is retired Army CW5 after 36 years of service. He has served our country well in Viet Nam ( 2 bronze stars with clusters and Distinguished Flying Cross), served stateside during Desert Storm, and was serving when the Trade Centers were bombed. He has flown almost every type of helicopter. Most hours were in the Huey but he has also flown the Cobra and others. He is an ordained Baptist minister, although he found preaching was not his calling but teaching is. He started a Bible Institute in our church and has taught Old Testament, New Testament, and Theology. He is still teaching an adult Bible Sunday school class, the head of the Drama Team, a serving Deacon, and sings in the choir and men's quartet. He has been dx with early stage Parkinson's. We are a team and we support and love one another. We will still serve the Lord as long as we can in any capacity. God is good.
I have two children and one grandchild ( at the moment) after July 7 I will have a new "daughter and grandson". God is good |
| PASSIONS |
Seeing others have a hunger for God's Word and how God wants a daily relationship with us.
Using the gifts He has given me for His glory and reaping pleasure from His joy.
Teaching God's Word, interpreting sign language, painting His creation, and gardening, where I find so many examples from His word and application to life. |
| HOBBIES |
I love animals. We have two dogs a little rotten Maltese who thinks he is a baby not a dog, and a beautiful rescued now retired racing greyhound. Also have 6 fish in the pond..yes, they have names too and are spoiled. I love birds and keep flowers and plants that will attract them to my garden. I have a pair of doves nesting in my grape arbor at present.
I love to paint. It has only been in the last 10 years, since "painting for the Lord" that my talents have increased as has my deepest pleasure.
God and I have a garden.I labor in it and He makes it beautiful. Whatever comes up..comes up, whatever doesn't..then something else will take its place. I have a huge grape arbor and when I read in the Bible things about the vine, the branches, the pruning...I have a deeper knowledge of not only my plant but what God is saying in these illustrations. I fight yearly with an invasive plant : Bitter root. Boy, do I ever understand about the "root of bitterness"!The plant started two neighbors over, killed his tree, then traveled into my garden. It sends down roots deep into the soil and hundreds of smaller roots that spread out and choke the good plants. So best to pull it out while it is still small and tender. Great Lesson! God shows me something new almost daily . God is good. |

| OTHER |
My heart has always been for missions. I surrendered myself to the Lord at the age of 9 at a summer Vacation Bible school. The mission story was about missionaries in Brazil. Their story of faith and commitment is what touched my heart and soul. I consider my "ladies" , neighbors, friends, and relatives my mission field along with missionaries on the fields. I am a missionary to people all over the world through prayer and support. We are all brothers and sisters in Christ. I am a missionary at East West through our son, Rob and our new daughter-in-law Sheila. God is good. |
