Okay so here's the gist of it. Been a songwriter since age 17, playing drums since birth (so I'm told). Play guitar and piano (a hack at piano but music theory taught me enough to write on it). Have a music ministry at my church. Gave up playing drums in bars back in '93. Just couldn't reconcile that scene with my faith.I wanted to write more and not drive home at 3 in the morning exhausted from 4 fours of drumming. Decided (or more like convicted) that I wanted to play christian music. Old stuff, classical, contemporary, it's all good. I shoud say, a good song is a good song. Which means good melody, good groove good lyrics. Started with guitar, singing my songs to the kids at church. Then one day my pastor called me up and said " Know what? I've got drums and your my drummer!" I honestly thought I would never drum in front of people again but here it is 6 years later. We have 8 very talented musicians in the Praise Band now and I am very proud to say that my son Michael plays the bass, my neice Krista is becoming killer on the grand piano and her sister Sara is a lead vocalist in front. Who would have thought of this scenario. It gives me more joy doing this than any gig I've ever played for any amount of money. It's made me a better drummer just because there are so many different time signatures I have to play, where as Rock is pretty much 4/4 time for most of the music. I am having a good time these days. I now play rock, jazz, alternative, waltz, whatever (celtic?) and there 500 people singing along with us. We prepare hearts for worship and I love my job. Glory to God in the Highest . Come join me at Tabernacle Baptist in Chicopee, MA when your down east. Psalms 150 Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness. Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with the stringed instruments and organs. Praise him upon the loud (Zildjian) cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. Let everything that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.

I am very happy in my ministry. Never thought in my wildest dreams that one day I would be the drummer with my son Michael playing bass, my niece Krista playing the grand piano and her sister Sara would be singing lead vocals in our praise band. How cool is that? Sometimes I can't help but laugh when I look over at Krista, she looks at me while she's playing away and singing along to the song. It is sheer joy to my heart. I would just love the opportunity to take our praise band on the road. It is a band to be reckoned with and I think our praise band could really add something to an event of worship and evangelism. I pray that I get the chance to do this with all the musicians in our band which includes Don Howell, Keith McCreay, Krista, Sara and Michael Hines,Jen wooler and my other drummers and percusiciants Matt Whictacre and Ryan Chlosta.

I love to perform whether it's music, acting or whatever. I'm not shy but reserved until I get in front of an audience and then this tranformation takes place and I just pour myself out into whatever it is that I'm doing. Love to make people laugh and I find humor in everyday things and just run with it.

Music, Writing, Teaching drums. The oceans, the mountains, boating, fishing, cooking, building and remodeling.

Still love the old stuff like Clapton, Alman Bros., Beatles, Stones, Lynard Skynard, Buddy Rich, Glen Miller, George Strait, Trisha Yearwood, Doobie Bros., CCR, Sanford Townsand Band and many others that inspired my musical career. I think it was Stephen Curtis Chapman that was my first glimpse of what Christian music could be about. Love his music. Chris Tomlim is great, Matt Redman is awesome as well as Paul Baloche.there's other's but it's early yet and I run on caffiene.
